implementing bold strategies

The Asheville City Schools Foundation has three pathways for connecting grant funding to our school community: external grants awarded to ACSF to support programs and initiatives, grants from ACSF awarded to ACS educators and partners, and fiscal sponsorship of community and school-based grants impacting our youth.

Grants to ACSF

ACSF has a proven track-record of fiscally responsible stewardship of federal, government, community, and private grant funding. Approximately 25% of ACSF’s operating budget is derived from grant awards, funding programs such as In Real Life After-School, TAPAS Artist Residencies, and community engagement initiatives. We are honored to bridge our partner organizations to our city schools.

Grants from ACSF

A critical component of our work is supporting Asheville City Schools students, educators, and mental health professionals through expanded grant funding and professional development opportunities. ACSF is committed to providing our school community with funding to fix systems- not kids, implement effective and innovative teaching strategies, cultivate professional development, and engage with arts education experiences in the classroom. Since 2000, ACSF has awarded over 1.8 million directly to teacher-led initiatives and has provided over 925 days of artists in residency. We are so grateful for the tremendous work our ACS community has accomplished with these resources.

Fiscal Sponsorship

The Asheville City Schools Foundation provides fiscal sponsorship of grant funding for Asheville City Schools and select partner organization whose work impacts our ACS youth. Please click to read more about currently sponsored programs.
