Alumni Center Student activities
The Writing Center
The Writing Center at Asheville High is funded by ACSF and is staffed by college students and recent college graduates who are eager to work with AHS/SILSA students. The Writing Center supports students of all writing abilities and welcomes students into an environment where collaboration is a common part of the creative process. Writing coaches are trained to assist students at any phase of the writing process, from brainstorming initial ideas to reviewing final edits.
Scholarships and College Applications
The Asheville City Schools Foundation is committed to providing our students with robust supports as they navigate the college and scholarship application process. Each year, ACSF collaborates with community partners such as Blue Ridge Tutoring and the College Foundation of North Carolina to host support sessions on topics such as crafting impactful essays, building resumes which uplift students’ unique lived experiences, reviewing financial award letters and understanding loan options, and coaching for interviews.
Class Tours
The Alumni Center offers current students a pathway to connect with generations of Cougar alumni who came before them. The Alumni Center frequently hosts class tours.
