fiscal sponsorship

The Asheville City Schools Foundation is proud to provide fiscal sponsorship of grant funding and donations for the following initiatives making an impact for our Asheville City Schools students and families.

Hands Up!

The Hands Up! Program at Asheville High and SILSA provides critical supports for students and their families through our school social workers. “As our students continue to be faced with various challenges, our goal is to eliminate barriers and your generosity reminds us of the connection we all share and of all the good that still exists during hard times.” - Levette Campbell. The Hands Up program is used for student assistance, including school supplies, personal items, field trips, educational opportunities, and emergency assistance.

Founded by SILSA Principal Nicole Cush, Glitters Sisters supports the social-emotional development of over twenty young black women each year, ages 15-18, and is uniquely situated within our high schools. Support from Dogwood Health Trust is being used to resource and train Glitter Sisters providers, and incorporate use of arts as an effective, evidence-based mental health strategy.
