Artists Presenting in Asheville Schools (TAPAS) Grants
Made possible though a partnership with LEAF in Schools and Streets, UNCA Asheville, and the Local Arts Community.
Overview
All students can be reached through the arts, and many students who cannot otherwise be inspired, can be touched by opportunities to learn about and create art. In a community filled with great artists, our classrooms should be filled with the artistry for which Asheville is known, and every student should have access to learning with artists.
Objectives
1. Increase student learning by integrating art education into the core curriculum
2. Enhance student motivation and participation in the classroom with creative, active learning opportunities
3. Expand student understanding of performing and visual arts through interaction with high-quality, trained teaching artists
Application Procedure: Grants should be emailed to Kate Pett at Kate@acsf.org by by 5 pm on January 20, 2012 and a hard copy with original signatures should arrive within three business days.
