Micro Grants

Small grants, big impact.  Made possible though funding from organizations like the Walnut Cove Members Association.

 Overview
Micro-Grants allow educators to apply for small amounts as needed during the school year to supplement their activities.  Historically, teachers have dipped into their own pockets for small expenses. We anticipate that requests might include supplemental classroom materials, stipends for visiting speakers, etc. Priority is given to purchases that may be re-used from year to year.

Objectives
  1. Increase cultural/multicultural literacy

  2. Provide an engaging and innovative experience for students

  3. Impacts the core academic areas

  4. Impacts many students either this year or on-going

  5. Impacts underserved students specifically

Application Procedure: Grants should be emailed to Kate Pett at Kate@acsf.org by 5 PM on September 23, 2011 and a hard copy with original signatures should arrive within three business days. This is the last MicroGrant cycle to be awarded as we reposition funds for maximum impact.

Applicants will receive notification of receipt of their grant.  Contact the ACSF Office if you have not heard within one week of submission.  Grants are awarded by a committee of board members and community volunteers within 6 weeks of application, and notification of awards is within 8 weeks.
