TAPAS in the News!

The TAPAS Program (Teaching Artists Presenting in Asheville Schools) recently received a $5000 Grassroots Arts Grant Subgrant through the City of Asheville to expand artist residencies in district schools. During the 2010-11 School year, TAPAS will bring 100 hours of residencies with professional artists into our classrooms! TAPAS, which started in 2010, is a partnership between the Asheville City Schools Foundation, LEAF (Lake Eden Arts Festival) in Streets and Schools, and the UNC Asheville Center for Craft, Creativity and Design.Read more about the program here in the Asheville-Citizen Times. The Grassroots Arts Grant Subgrant receives support from the North Carolina Arts Council, a division of the Department of Cultural Resources, with funding from the National Endowment for the Arts.
